Neighbourhood Grants

Neighbourhood Grants 2011

We've made $10,000 available to not-for-profit organisations that are based in or provide services to Emerald Park community or surrounding Wellard/Kwinana area.  Successful organisations add value to the local community via sporting, welfare, cultural, recreational or other not-for-profit activities.

Six local groups received their grants at a presentation ceremony at the central lake parkland on Sunday 3rd April, attended by Councillor Richard Smith from the City of Rockingham.

Applications were received from a broad cross-section of the community with the successful recipients representing community groups contributing to Emerald Park and the wider Wellard community.

Cedar Woods State Manager WA, Stuart Duplock said that selecting the grant recipients was a very difficult decision as there were many excellent nominations.

"We received applications from a cross section of the community and it was difficult to choose the grant winners, as every applicant makes a tangible difference to Wellard and its surrounds. However, we really wanted to help those orgranisations whose impact is felt by more than the direct individuals they support. The charities we selected this year create a positive ripple effect throughout the community and this is key to developing happy and healthy places to live.” he said.

Recipients were announced on 18 September at a presentation ceremony at the Emerald Park Central Parkland, attended by the Town of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams.

This year’s beneficiaries include:

The Kwinana Cricket Club will use their grant to pay for cricket balls for the junior cricket teams. This helps to reduce the cost of playing for the children, ensuring that teams continue to be fielded throughout the season.
